Select Wine Journeys

ABOUT US

My name is Dave Kasper and I will be your host and guide throughout your Select Wine Journey. I am originally from Québec, but for the past 25 years, I have called the west coast of British Columbia home. My wife Margaret and I have a passion for travel, history, and wine. We created Select Wine Journeys so that we can share and grow this passion. Our tours explore Touraine, located in the centre of the Loire Valley, France, and of course showcase the exceptional wines of the region.

Many years ago, while on a family vacation in France, we were introduced to the fabulous wine, and strong culture of Touraine. The beauty of the region, the significant history, the strength of the local culture, and the incredible people and their passion for wine making, were unforgettable. From this point, our dream of creating Select Wine Journeys took root. Over the subsequent years, we have developed great friendships with wine-makers who are passionate about their family history, their land, and their wine. We are thrilled to be able to share our love of the Loire with you!

About Us

OUR TOURS

Our Tours

While all Select Wine Journeys focus on the unique wine of the Loire Valley region, each has a distinct accompanying theme. The three possible themes are History & Wine, Walking & Wine, and Regional Cuisine & Wine.

Each tour can accommodate up to eight guests. Small tour sizes give us access to local vineyards, farms, restaurants, and much more. We have the privilege of visiting with, and learning from wine-makers, farmers, and other local artisans.

Custom tours are available for group bookings. Please contact us for more information.

Explore the incredible chateaux of the Loire, or traverse centuries old villages, where daily visits to the boulangerie, fromagerie, or local markets are still common practice. Chateaux such as Château de Chenonceau, Château d'Amboise, and Château de Chinon feature distinctive architecture and art, and all have unique stories connected to their construction, development, and inhabitants. Spend time visiting local wine-makers. Walk amongst their vines, and learn about their families' histories of wine-making. Taste a selection of their incredible wines straight from their personal cellars. A new history lesson appears at every turn!

TESTIMONIALS

We just got back from a wonderful adventure in the Loire Valley of France with Dave Kasper of Select Wine Journeys. Each day we enjoyed the perfect blend of local cuisine, the sights and history of the area, and of course, learning about and tasting the wines of the area.  Our stay at the Manoir in Vouvray was very comfortable and our hosts could not have been more accommodating or taken better care of us. Dave, thanks for a great trip!!
